Challenge
Coppertech Renewables required the appointment a competent Health & Safety Consultant to:
- Assist them initially reviewing their suite of documentation
- The Client did not have the relevant competencies in house to deliver the service
- Develop and provide a health & safety policy in line with their business
- Assist them in providing risk assessments for key tasks along with method statements
- Assistance in pre-qualification of their supply chain
- Retained health & safety advice
Solution
Upon appointment we delivered the following:
- Arranged a site visit with the Client to fully understand their business
- Provided competent advice on a ongoing basis
- Carried out a gap analysis on their existing documentation and put in place corrective actions and amendments following the review.
- Produced site specific risk assessments for tasks the Client carried out.
- Produced a Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan
- Liaised with key stakeholders to ensure the Construction Phase Plan was adequately developed
- Provided advice and assistance following a environmental issue on one of their sites and ensured that best practice was followed to prevent a re-occurrence.
Success
- Provided the Client with retained competent Health & Safety advice with a consultant who fully engaged with the Client and understands their business.
- Provided updated documentation which can be utilised on future projects
- Provided the Client with full compliance on the CDM Regulations on specific projects and assisting them with their role as the Principal Contractor.
- Became the Client nominated Health & Safety consultant
- Provided fortnightly tool box talks on site with operatives
- Set up a process of pre-qualification for the Client to utilise when on-boarding new contractors into their supply chain.
